Well, it could have come later than this, but finally we have March of Madness online. The story is looking for the right exposure to become everything it can be!

For now, though, "too soon" has another meeaning altogether. It all revolves around the "tallest person to play in the NCAA's". I am referring to bench player, Olivier RIoux. Anyone paying attention knows him as the redshirt Freshman on the Florida Gators. As March Madness starts to heat up, many have wondered: "Could Florida be stashing this guy for March Madness?"

Why would Florida need to redshirt someone who is 7'9"???

Redshirtting is done so that players get 4 full years of eligibility to play. Usually players may have a medical redshirt. But, why would Rioux have one? And his isn't medical. A medical redshirt means he's injured and it wouldn't make sense to play him this year, so he can hang out and practice and he'll see the floor some time next season, right?

But in the case of Olivier Rioux, isn't his redshirt the opposite of a medical redshirt? I mean, he's healthy! Maybe he's just not ready yet. Or is he? Is it too soon for him to play, or too soon showcase him? How helpless and hopeless would someone who can dunk a basketball need to be in order to NOT be able to play - especially at his height? OK, I get that "Oli" may not already look like this, but he is no Gheorghe Muresan! Look him up if you have to.

See, I believe the young Rioux is healthy and he's good! I believe he has been redshirted simply to keep him healthy. They would not want to risk an injury to him. He is my number 1 "Franchise stash" in all sports! I do not think Rioux will have more than parts of two seasons at the maximum at the college level. So, is this all just on the DL???

He has his feet under him and has had a lot of exposure. I see some definite suppression going on with this kid. Could he be the big surprise this season? I mean, Florida is already a good team. They are a top 5 team, but I expect they may find a way to drop down into double digits over the next couple weeks. How on earth could anyone prepare for someone who can represent at nearly 8 ft? Perhaps the better question is Do I bet Florida to win the NCAA Championship NOW or NEXT year? Or both! And, yes, Florida has gone back-to-back before.
